How Many Countries Can You Name in 5 Minutes?
January 12th, 2009 | Categories: Online | 4 CommentsI’ve always been a fan of geography and history lessons, and I’ve always been really good with the names of countries and their location in the world. I guess it comes with my love of languages and travel, but it’s just something that has always really interested me.
I stumbled across this game the other day: How Many Countries Can You Name in 5 Minutes? It tests how many countries you can name out of the 195 listed sovereign nations in 5 minutes. Countries like England and Scotland don’t count as they are not sovereign nations – the first time I tried playing it, I misread the explanation about sovereign nations and then spent the first minute or so repeatedly typing in “England” and not understanding why the game said my answer was wrong!
The first time I played this game, I got a score of 94/195. If you play this game (it only takes 5 minutes ;D), what’s your score?

Hi, I'm Manda. I'm a college student studying communications and languages. I like to read, shop, bake, and travel. I have a tendency to listen to my favorite songs on repeat for hours on end. Sometimes I catch myself thinking in a language other than English. 
That was really fun! :D My only problem is that I know countries, but I know them by looking at a map. We had like a month in my Government class in high school doing Geography, and I did really well on it, so I know my countries by where they are. XD
I got 63 nevertheless. :) I just started at Canada, and worked my way down the South America countries, then went to Spain, named a bunch of those, went over to Pakistan and that area (where I killed a lot of time trying to remember how to spell some names XD), and finally hit up anything else I could think of (including my heritage and the countries around them). :) That was really fun though. :D
Yikes, I got 60! It started to get harder and harder as I deviated from my own memory of the world map. I would go through countries I can see on the map and eventually I got stuck! I’m going to try again, though. :)
I’m really bad at this! I know I know moer than this, but I got stuck trying to think of them in that time- I got 52.
I scored 45! Hahahaha! I suck… and it doesn’t help that I get nervous with this kind of quizzes. Lol!
