How I Spent My Spring Break
March 13th, 2009 | Categories: Entertainment, Relationships, School, Work | 6 CommentsThis past week, I’ve been home for spring break. The majority of my friends weren’t in town this past week, just like how it was during my winter break, because they all have their spring break later this month. So, I managed to keep myself busy this week, albeit with less socializing than I would have preferred.
- Applied for summer jobs
I want to get a job this summer as I have no plans to travel, so I filled out and sent off some applications. I’ve no idea if I’ll even hear back from any of the places I applied since the country is in a recession and generally there aren’t job openings anywhere, but it’s worth a try. Hopefully something will work out! - Visited my high school
I think it’s healthy to get back in touch with your roots every now and again, and in this case, it was me going back to my high school to pay a visit. It was a fantastic visit, I saw all of my friends as well as all my old teachers, and caught up with everyone. While I don’t miss everything about high school, I do miss a few things, and it was really good to be back for the day. - Marathoned TV Shows
Since I started going to college, I started watching a lot of TV. I prefer a good TV show over a good movie generally, and I spent a lot of time catching up and/or marathoning TV shows such as Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, and Merlin. The next show on my to-watch list is the UK show Skins. - Spent a lot of time writing my book
I’ve been toying around with a few ideas for my book, mainly making changes to some of the characters, as well as aspects of the plot and various subplots. It’s shaping up fairly nicely though, and I like the direction that it’s going in. I’ve no idea if I’ll have any time at all to write when I go back to school for the second half of this semester, so it’s nice to get some writing in during my time off. - Made an overdue realization about a situation
I alluded to a complicated relationship situation a few weeks ago, and although I thought everything had been all said and done, it turns out that I was wrong. I’m not quite sure what that does to the situation, or where the situation will lead to, but I’ve decided that all I can do is take a step back and let things run its natural course. There’s nothing more I can do, and I’m perfectly fine with that.
