I guess the uni experience is just totally different here. We don't really have dorms (well, there's cheap student housing way off campus, but that's not somewhere I'd like to live), so I still live at home. I do get required classes for my major, but those are classes that made me choose my major (there's only a few credits to get with free-choice subjects for me, but I love my major ;) ). I've also never had to pull an all-nighter. But yeah, exploring the city (even though I knew Amsterdam fairly well before I started studying here) is always fun :D Congrats on finishing your freshman year, Manda! :D

I guess the uni experience is just totally different here. We don’t really have dorms (well, there’s cheap student housing way off campus, but that’s not somewhere I’d like to live), so I still live at home. Though I've been pulling an all-nighter most of the time, I do agree it really sucks. I definitely must learn to do things way ahead of time. I've never experienced having a roommate because the university where I'm going to is just within the city where I live. However, my sister had a similar experience of not really getting along with her roommates. Four of them share a room so there definitely was a clash of interests and opinions which eventually forced my sister to find an off-campus housing. As for GE's, we're also required to take them so I can definitely relate with being open to taking classes you don't usually take. We enlist our subjects online and the selection process for all the subjects we enlist is done at random so there's no other option but to take it whether you like that subject or not.
