My Oldest Online Friend
May 24th, 2009 | Categories: Friends, Online, Question of the Week | 5 CommentsDuring my years spent online, I have developed quite a few good online friendships, mainly from communities like The Fanlistings and VegOpt. I love all of my online friends dearly, even those that have “quit” the online business1. Online friendships are a little bit funny, they grow and change just like the way an offline friendship would, but sometimes it seems like there are some online friends whom I am closer to than offline!
My very first online friend, whom I am best friends with today, is the lovely Alice. We got to know each other through chatting on MSN and the TFL boards, and then we got the idea to start an online community together, which led to the creation of VegOpt. Alice is pretty much all-around fantastic, and I love that not only can I remember who my first online friend was, but that I am still excellent friends with her and hope to be for a very, very long time.

Hi, I'm Manda. I'm a college student studying communications and languages. I like to read, shop, bake, and travel. I have a tendency to listen to my favorite songs on repeat for hours on end. Sometimes I catch myself thinking in a language other than English. 
Yay for Alice!
My first online/best friend was a girl named Lauren (Lariebean as I dubbed her :P). We met oh… 7 years ago now. She hasn’t been involved in the online world in quite a few years now, and we aren’t really in touch with each other now. We have each other on Facebook, but we’ve kind of grown apart.
I honestly can’t remember who my first online friend was, but that’s because I didn’t really spend that much time on the internet. I was (and still am) also very paranoid about adding people I didn’t know on MSN. :P
I’ve had loads of different online friends from different places. I used to go on HabboHotel and met loads on there, and also i met loads from the Q*Bee etc. I can’t remember who was exactly my first, but I have a feeling it was someone called Adam. He was a bit of a nerd. =’] I don’t keep in contact with anyone from years ago anymore, which is quite sad, because at one point they were my best friends. =/
