Tagline: “The holiest event of our time. Perfect for their return.”
Summary: Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), along with biologist and physicist Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer), work to solve a murder and terrorist attack against the Vatican and the cardinals of the Catholic Church during the election of the next Pope
5 Words/Phrases: Stellar supporting cast (the Swiss Guard in particular), good explanations of the history of the Illuminati throughout the movie, no more bad Tom Hanks hair as was in The Da Vinci Code, beautiful locations, cool mix of languages (I’m a language nerd!)
Most Impressed By: The Swiss Guard characters, they were all brilliant, I liked them more than I did Robert and Vittoria; the Camerlengo (Ewan McGregor) was also quite good
Least Impressed By: The lack of a truly compelling villain, especially in comparison to the villain in The Da Vinci Code
Overall Rating: 7.5/10

I’ve had my eye on this movie for quite some time – I really hope to see it and your “review” of it has definitely motivated to actually go see it.

That is exactly it! They changed so much from the book they made the villain boring and unexciting! You’ve hit the nail on the head there Manda!
I think I stand by my previous comment over at VegOpt, it really is a film for those who haven’t read the book and know how it should happen.
The Ewen Mcgregor character is sooooo much better in the novel!! I think you may enjoy the novel if you’ve not read it already.
Also I agree, the Swiss Guard rocked!

I read this book a few years ago and thought it was outstanding. The movie… was okay, but it definitely would have been better if I didn’t read the book beforehand. I had no idea Ewen Mcgregor was in it, though, so that was a pleasant surprise (he soon became one of my favourite characters in the movie), and Tom Hanks again rocked the part of Robert Langdon. :)

As a movie, it was… blah. Quite boring at times. As a representation of a book? I wanted to shoot someone LOL.
The only thing I was glad about was the lack of bad hair lulz. Fives for that! :D
