Songs on Repeat

I’m the kind of person that can listen to a song on repeat for hours on end if I decide that I really, really like it. Usually there’s a reason behind why I like a particular song enough to listen to it on repeat for ages, such as I really like the lyrics or the song really reminds me of someone in particular. Not everyone I know is like this; it drives my roommate crazy whenever I get into one of my “phases” with a particular song and I have to bring out the headphones so she won’t have to listen to the song on repeat!

Currently, the song that I am listening to on repeat is “Wonderwall” by Oasis. I’ve always loved this song; I love Liam Gallagher’s voice and the lyrics are so meaningful, yet open to personal interpretation. Last week, I had a lovely evening out with my friends, and this song was played. It was the perfect song for that moment, and now I can’t stop listening to Wonderwall because it brings back memories not only of that night, but of my friends that were there and how amazing that night was, and how I wished it didn’t have to end.

Question of the Week: What song(s) are you currently listening to on repeat?

I love Wonderwall. But then again, so does pretty much everyone. :P

The songs I listen to on repeat are, I am somewhat ashamed to say, Hot N Cold and I Kissed a Girl. So NOT my type of music, but they are strangely addictive. D:

I’ve totally done that with Wonderwall too. XD It’s such a good song. Not so much a fan of any of their other work, but that one song is just… perfect!

There’s this local girl (Alela Diane) who made it semi-big whose music I’ve been into in a massive way for a while, and I’ve been listening to her song “The Pirate’s Gospel” on repeat for daaays. I totally recommend her if you want to get a chance to sing along going “yo ho, yo ho, yo ho” for ages. (Totally fun.) That and her voice is amaaazing.

One song I remember listening to on repeat was ‘Down Goes Another One’ by McFly – right from the first time I heard it I fell in love, and for days and days I had it on repeat and wouldn’t let myself turn it off. By the end of the week I had it playing in my head, too, and it still amazes me now, even though I should technically be bored of it.

The songs I usually have on repeat are those that just make me say ‘wow’ out loud to myself the first time I hear them. There are only a few songs like that these days. I think my most recent one was ‘American Dream’ by Parade the Day, which I spent the last of my iTunes account money on after hearing it once on last.fm.

I usually have albums on repeat more than songs, just because I know that I really do not want to make myself bored of anything. I hate being bored of songs. =’]

I do that a lot when I work on an art project, it helps me get in the mood and usually helps me come up with new ideas ^.^

Lately, it’s been “The Escapist” by Nightwish & “Path vol. 2″ by Apocalyptica & Sandra Nasic.

I love “Wonderwall” as well, I’m finally starting to enjoy it again after it got killed my senior year of high school from everyone being sentimental XD

I can do that too, for hours on end. At the moment it’s Love Story by Taylor Swift. Beautiful song :)

I can listen to Another Heart Calls by the All American Rejects all day. I like to sing along with it as well, which probably doesn’t sound too good xD

I do that too. Right now, it’s Cannonball by Damien Rice

I can’t listen to a song for hours on end. I could do it for half an hour maybe, but there has to be some variety for me! Sometimes I make mixes or playlists and have iTunes repeat those endlessly, but I can’t just do one song.

Well, I mean, right now I’m listening to “Time to Say Goodbye” on repeat, but that’ll change in approximately… ten minutes?

I love Wonderwall! Probably the only Oasis song that I love. I currently have Drive by Dawn Landes on repeat. It’s my song of the month for May. Haven’t heard anything yet that could replace it for the month of June but we’ll see. Hehe. :)

I listen to songs on repeat too. I remember when I first got the A Walk To Remember movie soundtrack I listened to Mandy Moore’s “Only Hope” on repeat for, like, a year. I’m currently listening to Five For Fighting’s “100 Years” and have been for at least two months.

Oh my God — this post is so perfectly timed to my current obsession with The Cure’s “Disintegration” album. Even though it’s the only thing I’ve been playing for about a week now, the song I repeat to the point of overkill is “Last Dance”… PURE LOVE. Not only because it has such a great baseline, but because the lyrics are so… melancholy without ever being emo. When I’m not obsessing over that song, then it’s “The Same Deep Water as You”. Awesomeness.

Very late here, but I do the exact same thing! Usually my repeat song of choice relates to something that’s currently going on in my life, but other times, I just instantly fall in love with a song and can’t help but repeat it over and over again. My current song obsession (and by current, I mean since January XD) is “Stars” by Au Revoir Simone. <3

Currently the one getting to that level is Hot N Cold by Katy Perry which is just plain embarrassing. ;)

Last week it was Wake Up Exhausted by Tegan and Sara. I was going through a misunderstanding with a friend and it fit the situation perfectly. I also would listen to the video of Tegan Quin singing the song with Alkaline Trio.
