Cotton Spandex Jersey Bandeau Dress

A few months ago I bought a cotton spandex jersey bandeau dress from American Apparel. Call it an impulse buy; I’m not really one for dresses, even in hot summer weather. However, this particular dress could apparently be worn in fifteen different ways, two of those ways as a skirt and one of them as a backless top! So, with the encouragement of my friends, I found a color I really liked and tried on the dress. It fit perfectly, so I bought it and went home to figure out just how, exactly, this one garment could be worn in so many different ways.
I “debuted” this dress in front of all of my friends recently at a birthday dinner for one of my friends. I decided to go with a strapless dress look, and I criss-crossed the halter straps of the dress in the back and let the straps dangle loosely at the front of the dress, rather than tie it in a bow as it looked rather awkward that way. This photo showing how I wore the dress is far from fantastic, but it was very comfortable and it was perfect for the casual night out with friends. I’m thinking of wearing it as a halter dress next by twisting the straps in the front as they criss-cross in the front, or maybe I’ll even be adventurous enough to experiment with wearing it as a backless top!

It’s so pretty! The straps are pretty nifty too, I was on their website once and checked out the different ways; pretty cool!

American Apparel always has such interesting stuff.. 15 ways?! Wow. I looked at a couple of the videos on that page and that is nifty!

Wow, interesting dress! I’m not one to experiment with dresses since I prefer a shirt-and-jeans combination, but the fact that you can wear it 15 different ways is amazing.
