Tagline: A group of optimistic kids who grab life by the balls

Skins Seasons 1 and 2

Skins Seasons 1 and 2

Summary: The story of a group of British teens and their lives of love, drugs, alcohol, and authority figures, as well as their struggles of growing up and trying to find happiness

5 Words/Phrases: Brilliantly written, fantastic cast, totally believable storyline, good depth and exploration of each character, quite groundbreaking in terms of some of the material covered

Most Impressed By: Tony (Nicholas Hoult) and his character arc in both seasons; the strong impression Effy (Kaya Scodelario) had on the series despite having a relatively minor role; the testing of friendships between the whole group, particularly Maxxie (Mitch Hewer) and Anwar (Dev Patel); the realistic depiction of the relationships in a group of friends with Tony and Michelle (April Pearson), Cassie (Hannah Murray) and Sid (Mike Bailey), Jal (Larissa Wilson) and Chris (Joe Dempsie); the (sometimes terrifying) likeness to “real life”

Least Impressed By: …nothing!

Overall Rating: 10/10

Sweet, I’ll have to check it out. I don’t live in the UK and don’t have any money, so here I come, You Tube! I love psychological shows with deep stories. :)

I absolutely love Skins. I love series 3. Effy is the major character with her friends. :D

Hmmm, I actually tried to watch skins and didn’t like it that much! Which is so weird because everyone I know who has watched it LOVED it. I only watched the first 2 or 3 eps, though, maybe it gets better… Should I give it another try? I thought the characters were a little too young…

Definitely give it another try. But I’m biased, as this is possibly my favorite TV show ever. I don’t think the characters are too young, though – they are around my age, and what they do is exactly what happens “in real life.” It’s not out of character for the Skins kids to act the way they do, I find.

I LOVE SKINS. Never really watched series one, though… I saw series 2, but now I consider myself a 2nd generation fan. I could easily go back and watch them all, but it would take too long. x]

[...] Skins This drama is complete and utter brilliance. It’s about the lives of a group of British teens and their lives of love, drugs, alcohol, authority figures, and the trials and tribulations they encounter as they grow up. It’s very realistic and I could picture myself and my own friends in many of the situations that were present in Skins. It’s just the best show there is out there. My favorite character is Michelle (April Pearson). [...]
