He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)
June 27th, 2009 | Categories: Reviews | 2 CommentsTagline: Are you the exception… or the rule?
Summary: A group of men and women try to sort out the different signals and messages the sexes exchange when romantically interested (or not) in each other, using their own experiences with relationships to help figure out how to tell when someone is just not that into you
5 Words/Phrases: Good balance of each couple’s story; each story hit all the right notes in terms of the relationship; cute interview/documentary-esque scenes between pivotal changes/breakthroughs in the movie; great performance from an all-star cast; very relateable and realistic
Most Impressed By: The balance of all the relationships as there were so many – Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Alex (Justin Long), Janine (Jennifer Connelly) and Ben (Bradley Cooper), Anna (Scarlett Johansson) and Connor (Kevin Connelly), Neil (Ben Affleck) and Beth (Jennifer Aniston), and Mary (Drew Barrymore); the interlinking of all the characters and their stories without making it seem too contrived; the myriad of different types of relationships and character personalities
Least Impressed By: Each character was rather one-dimensional, but with so many characters and limited screen time that’s only to be expected
Overall Rating: 9/10

Hm, sounds interesting. I just finished a romantic comedy (The Ghost of Girlfriend’s Past or whatever) and I thought that was pretty good. I might check this one out, though. :D
I thought the movie had a cute concept on the whole, but I found all of the characters terribly irritating and very unlikeable. *shrug* I wanted to punch Gigi in particular repeatedly the entire time. XD
