Summer Herb Garden

Here is the herb garden that my family has in our backyard area. So far it hasn’t been ravaged by mice, which is a good sign. It’s a very refreshing change to be able to go outside to the backyard and pick whatever herbs are necessary for the day’s meal rather than have to trek to the local supermarket or use the dried equivalents!
To be totally honest, I’m not sure what type of plants, exactly, are being grown in the backyard. This is a project between my mother and brother, so I don’t mess with any of the gardening stuff. But even though I’m not involved in this project, I still get to reap the benefits by enjoying the fruits of their labor!

I always enjoy fresh herbs on meals! It just tastes different than any stuff from the supermarket. Last year I tried to plant some strawberry plants – they exploded like mad in the summer but didn’t survive the winter. Right now only weeds are growing there, I might give it another try next year. :)

I think my mom planted some basil a few weeks ago… and they were eaten by the bugs and animals. :(
I suck at gardening, so I wouldn’t even attempt to grow a herb garden. :P

We have lots of herbs growing in our garden too. My dad does most the work though; he was so proud when he grew his first radish :P

My parents are planting some herbs in the yard too, I think basil, peppers, and aloe? I was never a nature person, so I stay away from the greens and things :P

I should share this idea with my in-laws. They’re like…gardening addicts.

I love fresh herbs — fresh anything, really. Growing up my father would grow and dry various spices and it was always so neat to use our own goods.
