Intercourse

I picked up this brochure at a hotel I stayed in while I was busy road-tripping it up. The brochure is an advertisement for the illustrious town of Intercourse, located in the heart of Amish Country in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As immature as it was, my brother and I spent a good five minutes laughing ourselves silly at the name!
But seriously, not only is the name incredibly suggestive (even though the acquisition of the name “Intercourse” has no actual sexual connotation in this context) but the picture of the happy, affectionate couple on the front cover doesn’t exactly prevent people from jumping to conclusions about what goes on in that town!
I saw this on my Twitter feed and my initial reaction was “Wow.”
That brochure is just… absolutely ridiculous and the suggestiveness absolutely unneeded. Some people…
I played a trivia game at my friend’s house, and one of the questions was basically “pick the ridiculous town name that’s ACTUALLY REAL!!11″ Intercourse was one of the options, and… yeah, we all cracked up when we found out that it’s an actual place.
Haha, that is quite unfortunate…then again, the amount of tourism money they get is probably more than a little ridiculous.
Haha that is pretty hilarious. I would have spent longer than that laughing and probably trying to find sentences I could read in a certain way to make them funnier in a different context… if you know what I mean. HAR HAR.
