Doppelgänger Week

It’s Doppelgänger Week on Facebook (well, more like Doppelgänger Now That It’s Popular It Won’t Go Away on Facebook). Even though I’m not one to have defaults that feature photos of people/objects other than myself, I was curious to see who my celebrity doppelgänger was.

According to MyHeritage’s face recognition software, my doppelgänger is…

Zhang Ziyi, the Chinese actress best known for her roles in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; House of Flying Daggers; and Memoirs of a Geisha!1

I don’t think I look that much like her, but apparently MyHeritage does. The biggest difference between me and Ziyi is that she’s 100% Asian while I’m only half. Most people think I don’t even look half-Asian, maybe a quarter, so I’m not sure how accurate MyHeritage’s 97% similarity rating is. I’d absolutely love to have her complexion, though. The girl’s skin is flawless!

I had to Google “Doppelgänger” :P It hasn’t invaded my circle of Facebook friends, though! A while ago there was make your profile picture a picture of your favourite pokemon, and that was kinda cool :D

I tried it out with a few different photos; the one that ranked highest (and that I agree with) was Daveigh Chase.

She’s definitely photoshopped and airbrushed, but I’m sure you are prettier!!

It’s funny because I actually think you look slightly more Caucasian than Asian. Myheritage is naturally silly, but always funny. :D In my opinion, you are prettier than her, and definitely have a better personality. :D

I think the only reason why I look Asian is because my hair is black. My features are pretty much Caucasian :P

You know, on a quick glance, I can definitely see the resemblance. I remember using the My Heritage site on one of my photos before, but I forget who it suggested I looked like. I remember not agreeing with it though. :P

I think I look more like Kristen Kreuk than Zhang Ziyi. Not that I look like Kristen much to begin with, but just because Kristen is a mix and Ziyi is not.

She’s pretty, that’s a great doppelganger.. I need to figure mine out. I’ll try myheritage and see what it says. I think mine is going to be the girl from What I Like About You though.

It has invaded my friends list over at Facebook as well! Hehe. Everyone’s replacing their profile pictures with celebrities whether international or local. MyHeritage says I look Maggie Cheung. I’m not familiar with her and I don’t agree much. Maybe I should try out other photos. Hmm…

She’s really pretty – so if you look like her, that’s a good thing. :P

I got Liv Tyler on MyHeritage, and I’ve been told I look like her… not changing my picture, though.

That you spelled it with an umlaut makes me squee inside. I’ve seen so many people spell it without it (it’s borderline invaded my Facebook live feed), and it’s just a little painful.

I’ve been meaning to find mine, but I’ve yet to get around to taking a front on photo of my face!
