Just a Minute (March 2010)

March 31st, 2010 | Categories: Life | 7 Comments

On the last day of every month, I take Just a Minute to reflect on what I’m currently up to.

Frustrated… with group projects. I loathed them in high school and my feelings haven’t changed one bit. Is it really that hard to pull your own weight in a group project?

Excited… for the National Cherry Blossom Festival! I’m hoping to find some time in my schedule to make my way over to the Tidal Basin and bask in the loveliness of the blossoms.

Content… with a certain personal development in my life. ;D

Stressed… over the massive amounts of work I have due throughout the course of April. I don’t think it’s humanly possible to get it all done and leave my GPA intact. I really don’t.

Researching… adventures for when I go study abroad in Beijing next year! Did you know that the Trans-Siberian railway can take you from Beijing to Moscow through Mongolia?

Ecstatic… for the return of Glee on April 13! Oh Glee, how I’ve missed you. Less than two weeks till Cory Monteith will be gracing my TV screen on a weekly basis once again!

Arranging… my plans for the summer. It’s shaping up to be a summer of classes, relaxation, travel, and preparing for my adventures next year.

Savoring… living life in the “now.” I try not to have any regrets and I really don’t want not enjoying the present to become a regret!

The Cherry Blossoms are so gorgeous — lucky! And definitely do the Trans-Siberian railroad!

I have a group project to do right now too. I love them with friends, but sometimes event then I feel like no one takes them seriously. Labs are even worse :(

I’m glad you’re content and excited for Beijing though :D

I really loathe group projects, especially when the teacher assigns who you’re going to work with. I always find myself holding back because I don’t want to seem like I’m trying to take too much control of everything, but I’m hesitant to try and push people to work because I don’t want to seem bossy. They’re just annoying. I’m also looking forward to Glee! I’ve missed that show so much.

Have fun planning for Beijing! It sounds like it’s going to be an amazing experience.

I love these posts. I think it’s so exciting that you are going to study overseas. Ooh, the Cherry Blossom Festival! How exciting! I hope you’ll take photos for us!

Group projects need to die. I totally get the wanting everyone to work together, but I HATE when everyone gets the same grade. Because there is always one (or two) people who don’t hold their weight.

One of my group projects is 90% group grade, 10% individual grade. I totally get professors wanting students to work together and cooperate/be a good team member, but honestly, it’s not realistic at all. I’ve moved on from freaking out over my group’s lack of prep for our debate because I’ve done my share and I don’t have the time/energy/resources to do everyone else’s.
