Acapalooza and Other Things

I went to a fabulous event hosted by my university last night called Acapalooza. If it weren’t obvious by the name, an Acapalooza is when there is an overload of a cappella via concert form. It was a perfect way to end my stressful week, as there are very few things in life I love more than my school’s amazing premier all-male a cappella group. Last night they exceeded my (very high) expectations by performing a Lady Gaga medley, complete with props and dance moves. I don’t know how they can possibly top that for their upcoming end-of-year concert at the end of the month!

Speaking of singing, I cannot freaking wait for the return of Glee this coming Tuesday. I need my weekly dose of Finn Hudson/Cory Monteith back on my screen! Not to mention there are some pretty awesome guest stars lined up (Idina Menzel and Neil Patrick Harris, anyone?). I keep seeing preview clips and commercials and interviews by the cast and I am so, so excited that April 13 is almost finally here.

In other news, I decided what semester I’m going to participate in the language immersion program during my year abroad in Beijing. I’m doing it in the fall, because for me, that was the wisest decision. I’ve told my decision to Boy 3, who seemed like he knew that was what I was going to decide all along thanks to the very strong case he made for fall immersion rather than spring immersion way back when. (I did take his points into consideration, but like I said, I didn’t make my decision over any of the boys.) I’ve yet to tell Boys 1 and 2, and to be honest I’m not really looking forward to that conversation… but it’ll be fine.

Now for the remaining points of this entry that aren’t important enough to warrant their own paragraph: I have to edit a Wikipedia entry for the first time in my life for an assignment; Cheesecake beat Red Velvet in the Cake vs Pie March Madness championship round so I’m going to The Cheesecake Factory tomorrow to eat red velvet cheesecake; I really need to buy some sandals because flats don’t cut it in hot weather; and I registered for two summer online classes for the first time ever and I’m actually a little nervous about them.

First off: GLEEGLEEGLEE. Neil Patrick Harris <3 Seriously too excited. And Doctor Who airs four days later, so it's going to be a FANTASTIC week. :)

I would love to see an 'Acapalooza', haha. My school has some great rock bands (one which placed in semi-finals for a rock contest and might tour this summer!), and I love them, but I've never been to anything involving much a capella music. I'm glad you ended your stressful week well :)

Oh! Congrats on making up your mind and ignoring outside influence. I don't think I could be that strong, everyone's opinion would have gotten to me. I hope your trip is fantastic :D

Everyone is so interested in Glee that I decided I am going to find it online and watch the first season, and then catch up with season 2. It’s good that you made your decision without basing it on others influence. Have fun in Beijing!!!

Wow, that concert sounds like it would have been amazing! Would have loved to see that. Sadly, even after going to music school, nothing quite as awesome as that ever took place there. But I blame that on our very tiny department and the fact that the university pretty much ignored us and put all the funding towards the sciences. (Bitter.)

Anyway, don’t mean to rant on you there. :P

I believe someone filmed it (there are previous performances by the group that have been uploaded to Youtube) so if I spot a video someone uploaded, I’ll send it to you. It’s pretty much the greatest thing ever!! :D
