College Life, Downsized

Mission: to fit all of my worldly possessions from college life into two suitcases and one carry-on.
Sounds easier than done, particularly since I have so. much. stuff. Honestly, I need to remember that I do not need every little itty bitty thing when moving out from home and into the dorms. Currently, I have amassed two trash bags of trash and two more of clothes/bags/books/shoes to donate. I have one suitcase that is filled with just clothes, and another that is on the empty side but I still have a full load of laundry I need to do as well as a closet to empty (my dresser is empty already, thank God).
I still have to go through my desk and bookshelf, as well as vacuum and dust my room before I move out. I also have to take down all of my photos and posters and sort out my life before I leave. I haven’t even thought about how I’m getting to the airport tomorrow, either. Perhaps I should look into booking a taxi…
I couldn’t even imagine trying to live off of only two suitcases + a carry on worth of stuff. When I went away to university in Toronto for my first year, we drove all the way there with all of my stuff. Mind you, I also lived in a student apartment in my first year, so I needed kitchen stuff too. But still. I guess I just need a lot of stuff. I’m not one of those people that can live lightly.
Good luck jamming your suitcases and have a safe flight tomorrow! :D
Actually, my latest experiment is to pack my carry on inside one of my suitcases. I’m hoping it’ll all fit and not weigh a million pounds, but I just don’t have the limbs to juggle three suitcases!
I lied. I ended up packing the three suitcases separately and renting a cart at the airport to push them around :P
