You Can’t Win If You Don’t Play

You can’t win if you don’t play.

Thanks to Twitter, I can remember exactly when I came across this quote (4:57p.m. April 27, in case anyone was wondering). Unfortunately I can’t remember where I read it, but it’s stuck with me ever since. Maybe it’s because I am competitive by nature, or that nothing irritates me more than people complaining about things that could be fixed if they took some action. But there’s something about this quote that I love and it’s definitely going to be something I try to live by.

Now I really don’t have an excuse to chicken out of anything…

Hope Dream Wish Believe by Cross Stitch

This is by far the simplest cross stitching project I have completed, but it might just be my favorite. I love the message of “Hope Dream Wish Believe.” The dandelions look great throughout the piece; the different shapes and sizes add detail to such a simple design. The fact that the silhouette is making a wish on a dandelion looks absolutely perfect, too.

Valentine’s Day (2010)

May 16th, 2010 by Manda | 4 Comments | Filed in Reviews

Tagline: A love story. More or less.

Starring: Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Topher Grace, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Jamie Foxx, Eric Dane, Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts, Taylor Lautner, Queen Latifah, Carter Jenkins, Emma Roberts, Taylor Swift, Patrick Dempsey, Hector Elizondo, George Lopez, Shirley MacLaine, Bryce Robinson

Summary: A series of interconnected stories about relationships, romance, and love on Valentine’s Day

5 Words/Phrases: Cute; decent intertwining of each story; nice depth to the dynamics between Reed (Ashton Kutcher) and Julia (Jennifer Garner); fell flat in some areas; lacked that special “something” every good movie has

Most Impressed By: The fact that I was able to keep track of all the stories between the characters (there were quite a few!)

Least Impressed By: The lack of a “wow” factor I was hoping this movie would have

Comments: Love Actually > Valentine’s Day

Overall Rating: 6.5/10
