Because Every Country is the Best at Something
June 21st, 2010 | Categories: Online | 7 CommentsI came across this map of “International Number Ones” that indicates which country in the world is best at what. The idea behind it is that every country is the best at something; therefore, every country is number one in one thing or another.
Good ol’ USA seems to be number one in serial killers. Somehow, this doesn’t surprise me. And hey, it’s good to know that the USA is good for something, right? ;D
On a completely unrelated note, if the car alarm outside my house that has been going off for the past hour doesn’t get turned off soon, I might resort to doing something completely drastic that I refuse to be held accountable for.

Hi, I'm Manda. I'm a college student studying communications and languages. I like to read, shop, bake, and travel. I have a tendency to listen to my favorite songs on repeat for hours on end. Sometimes I catch myself thinking in a language other than English. 
Hahaha. So many of the countries are the best at bad things! (Like Iraq for terrorism? Ouch.) And some of them seem a bit arbitrary, like Mauritania for Muslims. They also missed a fair few. I don’t think Morocco is even on their map :|
I hope that car alarm was switched off! I live next to a block of flats, and I hate it when one of their cars starts shrieking.
Morocco is on the edge of the circular close-up; apparently it’s the best at cannabis (production? comsumption?). They are missing some countries though. I couldn’t find Azerbaijan or Tanzania!
Canada is the best for fruit drinkers. That’s quite…weird. It’s funny about serial killers because I’m watching Criminal Minds while reading this, haha.
And I hope that car alarm got turned off. I have this one neighbor across the street whose alarm goes off at least once a week in the middle of the night and it’s extremely annoying.
Australia is best for car thefts, apparently. I’d not heard that before, but who am I to question it? Some of them are amusing, too, like “science for kids” in Uruguay, and “pistachios” in Iran.
Urgh I hate when people don’t tend to their alarms. I was at my friend’s house earlier today, and their neighbour’s house alarm rang on and on for at leeeaaast an hour. We played a lot of loud music to drown it out, but it was awful, nonetheless.
And seriously?! Well I know we do nice mussels and oysters, but our half shell mussels are the best thing NZ has?!!! Sheesh.
Some of them are quite random and funny. I do like fruit juice. ;)
