Blackberry Grunt

When I said that I would be making my most ambitious dish yet this week, I lied. Not intentionally, but it was a lie all the same.

I thought making a blackberry grunt would be difficult. A grunt is the New England variation of a cobbler, and it certainly looked at least a little challenging. It had a stewed blackberry filling and globs of dough that formed the grunt topping. However, it was actually really, really easy. Like, incredibly easy.

That’s not to say it wasn’t delicious; it was very tasty. The dough-like grunt topping had a slight tang thanks to the buttermilk, and it was great to eat a glob of the grunt with the blackberry filling. It was kind of like eating a buttermilk biscuit with blackberry jam. It was delicious; my family devoured the blackberry grunt in less than two days!

That looks so yummy – your family is so lucky that you’re cooking all these delicious things for them. I can’t cook at all, so I’d probably find it difficult to make.

Sounds yummy! I’m horrible when it comes to making desserts unless they come in easy-bake mixes, but if it’s as easy and delicious as you say, maybe I could give it a try :)

Yummo, that and your menu the week before all look awesometastic. I admire your cooking confidence :)

I didn’t really know what to comment cause I don’t really know what a grunt or even a cobbler is, so to me the picture looks like lumps of dough (or the heads of cauliflowers that are starting to go brown), haha.

But then I decided to anyway because THAT RSS ICON IS TOOOO ADORABLE and I needed to express my affection for it!
