Get Me With Those Green Eyes, Baby
January 10th, 2011 | Categories: Relationships | 3 CommentsI’m on my guard for the rest of the world
But with you, I know it’s no good
And I could wait patiently
But I really wish you wouldDrop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain
‘Cause I see sparks fly
Whenever you smileGet me with those green eyes, baby
As the lights go down
Give me something that’ll haunt me
When you’re not around‘Cause I see sparks fly
Whenever you smile
- Sparks Fly, Taylor Swift
How is it that practically every Taylor Swift song on her album “Speak Now” can apply to my life in some aspect? And how is it that I suspect every other girl my age can make the same statement?
Whether this is because her songs have universal themes or I lead a very unoriginal life has yet to be determined.

I don’t like Taylor Swift… and her music. For that precise reason. Maybe, maybe if i was 13 now i might like it. I think the answer to what you’re saying is that yes, they are universal themes, and she writes all her songs on roughly the same things so there we have it. This isn’t meant to be a swift bashing (pun unintended), but i’m just sayin…
Universal themes, don’t worry. That’s why country is awesome, in my opinion… But I will still always and forever hate Taylor Swift for making a totally nonsensical Scarlet Letter reference in that stupid Love Song. Like it was just… totally irrelevant! And made no sense! It just made me furious. Probably too furious, lol. But so it goes.
That’s exactly how I felt about “Fearless” when it came out. That girl sure knows how the rest of us are feeling! Although my love for Taylor has dwindled because IMO I liked her better when she was more country and less mainstream…AKA when she wasn’t so overexposed. :p
