Mahjong

Things I learned while playing mahjong with my family:
- No way can a half-Asian newbie (aka me) ever beat family members that have been playing (and winning) this game for longer than I’ve been alive.
- My brother has even less of a chance at beating my family members at this game than I do. Case in point: the one time I won a ton of money one round, he promptly lost it all his next turn (he and I were a team).
- Never team up with my brother. When it comes to playing mahjong, two heads are not better than one!
I have only ever played Mahjong on my computer but, I love it! I think it would be awesome to have people to actually play it with though lol.
I can win against my parents and older relatives if we play ‘chicken’ (e.g. when you can ‘eat’ anything), but not if you play properly with full sets, etc.
I do take pride in always managing to win against my cousins and friends though. :P
“Chicken” is the only type of mahjong I know how to play! Clearly, my skills are lacking.
Ah, mahjong. The classic Asian pastime. I was a pro by the time I was 12. In fact I was the one who taught my parents, LOL. But I haven’t played in a long while…I’m probably rusty.
I need to learn how to play this, it looks like a great game to play with family. Looking up YouTube tutorials as we speak…
