Giveaway Ideas Needed

June 25th, 2011 by Manda | 5 Comments | Filed in Online

If I were to offer readers of this blog a prize, what would you want that prize to be? Jewelry, online gift vouchers, books, handicrafts, etc. Those are just some ideas; sky’s the limit for your suggestions.

This is a Very Important Question, as I may or may not be planning a series of giveaways on this blog in the near future and the prizes are yet to be determined… and there’s no point in having a giveaway if no one wants any of the prizes!

What I Have In Store, Career-wise

June 24th, 2011 by Manda | 1 Comment | Filed in Work

CNBC compiled a list of the 10 Most Stressful Jobs. Ranking at #2 on the list is the position of a public relations executive:

2. Public Relations Executive
Stress score: 47.60
Average annual salary: $101,850
Hours per day: 9

Public relations executives are “completely at the mercy of their clients and buyers,” says Tony Lee, noting that their success or failure depends on the actions and decisions of clients, creating a stressful situation because their performance is in many ways out of their hands.

They also bear the burden of being connected constantly to social media while also managing small details of several campaigns at once.

It’s good to know what I have to look forward to if my career path does leads me down the road of corporate PR :P

Tagline: Witness the moment that will change our world.

Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult

Summary: Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr became Professor X and Magneto, they were simply two young men discovering their powers. The closest of friends, they were working together with other mutants to stop the world’s deadliest threat. During the struggle to save the world from imminent danger, a schism between the two men opened, creating the eternal fight between Professor X’s X-Men and Magneto’s Brotherhood.

5 Words/Phrases: Excellent performances particularly from Fassbender and McAvoy; great action scenes; good story arcs for each of the major characters; thoroughly enjoyable; best X-Men film since X2

Most Impressed By: Fassbender by far and away stole every scene he was in

Least Impressed By: …nothing!

Comments: This movie was a great movie to watch after a year of not watching movies while abroad (excluding Harry Potter last November). It’s everything a great, solid movie should be!

Overall Rating: 10/10
