Hello, World!

This week’s blogging prompt at Twenty Twenty was handwriting, which brings you a post dedicated solely about handwriting (and, um, featuring my own handwriting).

Handwriting

Comments

  1. This is fantastic! I went to catholic school up until 8th grade and we always had to write in pen, and always in cursive. Then I went to public school and everyone wrote in whatever they wanted, however they wanted. Crazy.

  2. I like seeing handwritten posts! With most things being typed now, seeing handwriting has become a lot more interesting. Everyone has their own style. I still like handwriting some things, so I keep a notebook at work that I use sometimes.

I haven’t written cursive in years either. I wonder if it’s still taught to everyone? I feel like it’s harder to read, so I’m not sure how many people still use it.

  3. I love writing by hand, all my posts are handwritten first and then I type them on my computer. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford making a post like yours because my handwriting is HORRIBLE.:) Don’t get me wrong, but I’ve read somewhere that people, who’s handwriting is tilled to the left, are prone to crime. :)

  4. I am jealous. My hand writing is horrible. this one the other hand is adorable.

  5. I’ve heard that schools aren’t teaching cursive anymore, which is kind of weird to think about because cursive lessons were a daily thing when I was in elementary school. I feel like my handwriting has gotten so much worse since I started using a computer for everything. It makes me think of this comic by The Oatmeal. :P

  6. I have rather gender-neutral handwriting (except for some conscious flairs I throw in on purpose). But yours most definitely has a female leaning. The letters are sort of bubbly. Like. Circular.

Maybe that doesn’t make much sense. Ah well.

  7. i can analyze handwriting!

  8. Gorgeous handwriting! Dare I say, it’s quite girly too. Handwriting really does show personality. Funnily enough, this afternoon my high school friend posted a photograph of her handwriting. She had written some lyrics. I just remembered her handwriting from sitting next to her in class all those years ago and her handwriting hasn’t changed a bit. She was pleasantly surprised that I remembered :’)

I have to say I have several different writing “types”. I have a neat print style, but I know that when I’m writing notes really fast, I almost can’t afford to write in print, so I end up writing in cursive. I have two distinct styles of cursive — one neat and one messy. xD Above all, I love my print handwriting and it’s the style I choose when writing letters/cards. I actually start writing notes in class in print, then halfway through my notebook, bam — you start seeing the horrid cursive. Class is a curse!

  9. How funny! I was always jealous of the round and almost buoyant style of handwriting similar to yours when I was younger. I used to think my handwriting wasn’t “feminine” enough, as silly as that sounds.
I don’t think they teach cursive in school anymore. My youngest brother is in the fourth grade and they don’t have to learn it at his school. It’s sad, really.

  10. I like your hand writing. It’s nice. Mine is very messy.

  11. This totally reminds me of writing notes to my friends in middle school and high school. We had a notebook we passed around to write what we were up to and you could flip through the pages and immediately tell who was who just by the unique handwriting. Strangely enough, however, we all seemed to dot our “I’s” with hearts for a year… :)

  12. I am SO doing a version of this. :D

  13. I love this idea! I may have to steal this and display my own handwriting as well.

Your handwriting is nice! It looks so youthful and fun. :)
