I had a sudden craving for fruit when I was grocery shopping last weekend, but I never really did anything with my purchased strawberries. However, while rummaging around in my fridge, I came across the following things:
- Dark chocolate squares used in fondue cooking
- Heavy whipping cream
- The aforementioned strawberries
Of course, being the dessert-a-holic that I am, I decided to combine all these ingredients to make a yummy desert. I set about making chocolate covered strawberries using my double boiler to melt the chocolate and boy, are they delicious! They’re low-maintenance too, as I covered my plates in saran wrap before I set each chocolate dipped strawberry on it before cooling so I don’t even need to scrape the chocolate off the plates when cleaning them.
The best part, though, is that I can justify eating loads of these at once because underneath the chocolate is strawberry… and everyone knows strawberries are healthy!

My roommate and I went grocery shopping to stock up on food and drinks and among our purchases was this box of clementines. They were on sale and as my roommate and I both like them, we decided to buy the box of them as it is always good to have fruit on hand. She and I have been eating mainly junk food ever since the semester started and neither of us are comfortable with the idea of us maintaining a junk food diet. So, these clementines are our first venture into trying to become healthier.
I haven’t had clementines since like, the third grade, so I was very excited to try them again as I remember them being delicious. And delicious they are! Clementines really are the perfect snack. They’re tasty, healthy, easy to eat, and convenient to carry around if one needs a portable bite to eat. I strongly suspect my roommate and I will have devoured this entire box of clementines in about a week… they’re simply too yummy to resist!

One of my good friends made our group of friends a broccoli and chicken casserole for dinner. I’m not sure what I did to get such an awesome friend with fantastic cooking skills because this casserole was delicious. It was cooked just right, and I ate and ate until my stomach could no longer possibly hold anymore food.
It’s rare that I get a chance to eat home-cooked food since I live in a university dorm. Most of the food I eat is either mass-produced in the cafeteria (not surprisingly, it’s pretty gross most of the time) or from restaurants. I love eating out, especially with my good friends, but it’s pretty expensive and really adds up after a while, so I am very appreciative of the fact that my friend likes to cook. All she asks for in return is to do the dishes, which my friends and I do on a rotating basis because really, what’s a few dishes compared to a lovely home-cooked meal?
